Pride, gypsy roma traveller history month - June 2022
Welcoming cultures event – multicultural family fun day with exhibitions at the Millennium Galleries: mums united was invited to hold a stall and raise awareness, the trustees and young people spoke about the importance of their heritage
Palfest
Palfest Sheffield is a festival of friendship with Palestine. Mums united took park in Palfest, we facilitated discussion about the story of the consequences of 1948 Nabka, a young Palestinian woman talks with her grandmother about her experience.
During Palfest kite making took place at our clubs, it was an opportunity for all communities to come together and participate in a fun event whilst hearing stories about life in Palestine.
Points of lights
Points of lights award certificate holders were invited to stoke on Trent to meet ministers and the then prime minister Boris Johnson.
Netheredge food market
Mums united had a stall on the Netheredge food market, raised awareness THANK YOU TO Netheredge food market for their donation.
Protest Against Rising Cost Of Living
Mums united spoke up against the rising levels of energy prices – marginalising the already marginalised.
Protest against the National borders bill
Under the Nationality and Borders Bill being debated in the House of Lords, if the British government wants to remove someone's citizenship it will no longer need to tell them. Home Secretary Priti Patel says the law would be used in "exceptional circumstances" on people who pose the most risk to the UK.
But protests have been taking place against the plans - some fear that ethnic minorities could be treated differently to white Britons for committing the same crime.
Campaign against the borders bill, mums united trustees spoke about the dangers of the bill.

Enough is Enough 22nd May 2021
22nd of May ENOUGH IS ENOUGH Mums United held a protest against the gangs that are perpetuating hate and violence in our neighbourhoods, we came together to say enough is enough.
The protest saw over 100 people come out to voice their concerns about the impact of gun and crime violence in the city of Sheffield.

2020 Knife & Gun Crime Prevention training
Online community event training delivered by 2020- informative training to raise awareness about the culture of gang culture, county lines
2020 Peace Walk
Mums United organised the ‘solidarity walk’ with Family Voice in response to a number of stabbings and shootings in Sheffield. Mums United called for the community to come together.
Sahira Irshad (founder and chair) stated, “We want everybody to come together irrespective of their postcode. We are all facing the same issues whether you are in Sharrow, Arbourthorne, Meersbrook or Spital Hill. We were joined by journalist Mobeen Azhar and our local MP and councillors.
2019 Peace Walk
Mums united collaborated with Family Voice to carry out 1.5 mile walk in a show of solidarity following a spate of shootings, stabbings and anti-social behaviour in the area. More than 150 residents from a Sheffield suburb came to the walk.
